SmoothStyle

Art direction built around a single contrast, hot versus cold, for the launch of Shark's SmoothStyle dryer.

Shark’s SmoothStyle gives users precise control over their routine with both hot and cold airflow, fast drying on one end, setting and finishing on the other. The campaign needed to make that dual-mode story land visually, not as a spec sheet. I art directed and animated the launch work, deciding early that the whole campaign would live on a single axis, the contrast between hot and cold, and building every frame to serve it.

That meant two complete lighting and material worlds for one product. Warm frames got amber light, soft atmosphere, and slower, heavier motion. Cool frames went crisp and blue with sharper cuts and cleaner surfaces. Keeping the product itself identical across both worlds is what sells the idea, the device does not change, the temperature does, and the viewer feels the switch before any copy explains it.

SmoothStyle, the launch spot

Hot and cold airflow told as one visual story, warmth to set the style, cool to lock it in.
